We do not sell personal information. Sign-in is optional for browsing; features like MyReads, loans, or Nizam dashboards only use an account when you choose to create one.

Al Muslim operates digital projects that help people learn about and practice Islam, including:

Scope
This policy covers the Al Muslim hub and the projects listed above, unless a specific product page states otherwise. Third-party sites we link to keep their own policies.
What we collect
You provide
- Account details when you sign in (name, email, and authentication identifiers)
- Content you create (notes, highlights, bookmarks, library requests, support messages, institution data in Nizam)
- Questions and feedback you send to Rafiq or our teams
Collected automatically
- Basic technical logs needed to run and secure the services
- Local preferences on your device (theme, reading settings, session markers)
- Limited analytics where enabled — see our Cookie Policy
We do not require government ID for ordinary reading or asking questions.
How we use it
- Provide, maintain, and improve the services you use
- Authenticate accounts and prevent abuse
- Save reading progress, notes, and preferences when signed in
- Process library holds, loans, and related notices
- Operate institution features organisations enable in Nizam
- Respond to support and improve answer quality
- Comply with law and protect the security of our systems
Retention & security
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including backups and security logs for a reasonable period. Account content generally remains until you delete it or close the account, subject to legal or operational needs.
We use industry-standard safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information. You can update profile details in product settings, clear local preferences in your browser, or email hello@the-muslim.org. We may need to verify your request.
Children
Our services are intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your region) without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
International transfers
We may process information on servers in Canada, the United States, or other countries where our providers operate, with appropriate safeguards.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the updated date above and, when changes are material, provide additional notice where appropriate.
